Jewish Chautauqua Society

The Jewish Chautauqua Society is the interfaith education program of the Men of Reform Judaism.

For over 115 years, since 1893, JCS has provided knowledge and education about Jews and Judaism, has brought about an appreciation of the Jewish people, their history, religion, and culture, and has built bridges of understanding between peoples of all faiths and cultures.

Program Overview

As the interfaith education project of MRJ, The Jewish Chautauqua Society (JCS) currently sponsors numerous interfaith projects. The oldest and most significant JCS program is the JCS Scholar in Residence Program whereby a Rabbi teaches a full semester course at a college, university or theological center. While the subject matter varies, the goal is to teach our Christian neighbors something about Judaism. Currently, there are over 50 locations where a JCS Scholar in Resident teaches.

See the Men of Reform Judaism website for more complete information about JCS.
