I have been asked to communicate my vision as the recently elected President of the Brotherhood. The Brotherhood has been of value to the men of Temple Emanuel for over 50+ years in numerous ways. We are one of the largest Brotherhoods in the country and realize that we are only as good as you, our members.

Our mission is to provide social/volunteer, networking, and philanthropic services to organizations as decided by the Brotherhood members. Individuals join the Brotherhood for many reasons such as:

  1. friendship or education at monthly meetings or other gatherings
  2. valued volunteer activities including fundraising
  3. history of good works
  4. great speakers

Some of the various programs that have been successful are Mitzvah Cooking, Plant Sale, Coats for Kids, Community Breakfasts, Blood Drive, Party Expo, and many others. We also support many different services such as Temple Emanu-el Pre-School and Camp Israel scholarships, Boy Scouts, Purim Carnival, bagels for Sunday School teachers, and many other endeavors. You will see new programs such as Shofar Factory. Look for more information on our programs in future Window issues.

In addition, we will survey current and former members by telephone or email over the next couple months to get your feedback on what you value and what ideas you have for Brotherhood. If you would like to contact me directly, feel free to email me at president@tebrotherhood.org or call my cell phone at 214.766.2431.

Brotherhood is a reflection of our members and we want to better meet your needs.
